Last Edit?

Of course it won't be my last edit for the story but I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as I work my way through comments and tracked changes provided to me by my editor in England. After re-arranging some of the scenes in the first few chapters, and adding more drama to the story to keep the reader's interest I am hoping to get a proof ready for my beta-readers by early 2015. Yes, it is coming to the end of the road, just as it is for one of the main characters in this first story: in the end Dr. Durant's health is failing from pleurisy.

And I have two more stops for my research agenda: Syracuse University library (for the third time) to check on some correspondence between Ella and Reverend Morgan Dix, and the Winterthur Museum.

I'm looking forward to my winter break so I can devote as much time as possible to the story. Stay posted!
